Job Description

The Scenic Support Stylist is responsible to assist with the procurement and placement of scenic elements based on the scenic styling plan and on request of the Television Production team. Individuals in this position have the authority and responsibility to operate in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

Studio Execution

  • Assist in gathering, load-in and placement of on-air scenic elements according to the scenic styling plan. This includes, but is not limited to, changing of posters, props and furniture on set.
  • Assist in restoring the sets to their original, storefront condition. This includes, but is not limited to, returning posters, props and furniture to the proper storage areas.
  • Answer the Scenic cell phone and provide a level of support for the live show.
  • Provide sell furniture for the live show.
  • Assist with tabletop displays as they relate to the live show.
  • Assists in creation of shoot through displays for specific shows.
  • Assist in styling mannequins with appropriate apparel and accessories.
  • Assist Stylist - Scenic with simple flower arrangements.
  • Assist vendors by providing props and display materials as necessary.
  • Scenic Maintenance

  • Clean and maintain scenic storage areas, staging areas, and supply cabinet.
  • Locate missing props and return to prop storage areas.
  • Organize and maintain sets, furniture, and props in the warehouse.
  • Maintain and update inventory as new pieces are purchased and old pieces are dispositioned.
  • Receive prop and furniture deliveries, unpack shipment, and assemble items as necessary.
  • Pack and arrange prop shipments for return.
  • Receive and properly handle live flower deliveries.
  • Photograph and download set images for documentation.

  • Education, High School Diploma with astrong desire to enter into the InteriorDesign and orScenic Design Professions
  • Experience: 1 2 years. Previous television studio or theater experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of scenic construction, scene paining and set dressing preferred.
  • Ability to react quickly to critical situations that occur in a live broadcast and production environment.
  • Working knowledge of style trends, interior design elements, current fashion looks, and visual merchandising.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to climb stairs / ladders.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to differentiate between colors and textures.
  • Ability to flex work schedule as dictated by business needs.
  • Ability to work on elevated surfaces (i.e., lighting rafters, etc.).
  • Ability to lift items weighing approximately up to 50 lbs. (Good amount of lifting involved).
  • Must Be Available:

    Weekday evenings, Weekends - day and evening shifts

    General schedule 5pm to 1am time frame
