The Director, Business Unit Digital Engagement Team, is responsible for providing leadership to the Digital Engagement Teams aligned with the Business Unit. The director will be responsible for balancing priorities and resources across all brands within the Digital Engagement Teams for that Business Unit. The primary focus of each Digital Engagement Team will be to improve the Customer Experience and optimize brand performance. The Director will bring a strategic perspective on how to develop effective digital content and campaigns for the brands within the Business Unit he/she supports. Key responsibilities and competencies include: Provide Leadership across all Digital Engagement teams for the relevant Business Unit. Lead the capabilities development of the team, supporting the culture and mindset shift associated with agile work processes. Collaborate with peers and other key stakeholders (e.g. Directors, Business Unit Digital Engagement, marketing leaders, sales leaders, IT) to exchange learnings and establish best practices. Escalation to the Executive Director, Digital Engagement Factory, when needed. Team culture development / metrics. Manage Talent needs across teams. Provide opportunities to team members for professional development. Ensure optimal customer experience across campaigns. Digital content development, planning, and execution to increase user engagement with digital platforms and our content. Capacity planning with regular focus on reallocating resources across teams as needed to support business priorities. Maintaining current understanding of relevant Customer preferences including relevant use of social media, video and other channels. Remain current on trends in agile methodology and execution and design thinking. Ensuring adherence to US legal, compliance regulatory standards. Travel 10% Qualifications Education Minimum Requirement: Bachelors Degree required. Advanced degree preferred. Required Experience and Skills: Minimum of 7 years of digital marketing and/or brand marketing experience Experience with content and resource/campaign optimization across channels using actionable metrics Innovative thinker Demonstration of significant initiative to generate, implement and execute on ideas and strategy Experience working with various digital channels Strong Leadership, strong business acumen, superior communication and influencing skills Experience using analytics to measure and optimize digital initiatives/campaigns Ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships Ability to manage ambiguity and effectively cope with change and demonstrate the ability to shift direction as needed to address emerging organizational needs Demonstrated experience balancing both operational and strategic activities Strong analytical skills, planning and project management skills Your role at Merck is integral to helping the world meet new breakthroughs that affect generations to come, and were counting on your skills and inventiveness to help make meaningful contributions to global medical advancement.
