Manufacturing Support

  • Perform First Article Inspections, (FAIs) for the Cell. FAIs must be performed in a timely manner throughout the day. No open FAIs are to remain at the end of the shift.
  • When the FAI is complete the PQC will do the following: Verify SU and CT, enter actual SU and CT both in Sponge and the GSS
  • If the actual is different than the old estimate then reset in Sponge the new estimated SU and CT to new.
  • Responsible for writing Sponge Programs for manufacturing Cell in coordinating these for easy inputs.
  • Work with Management to develop specific and measurable goals, improvements and standards to continuously and consistently improve quality and reduce errors.
  • Act on behalf of the customer to audit and maintain the accuracy and timely delivery of products.
  • Make sure that roving inspections are done at all work stations on a routine daily basis and results are reported back to the machinist and cell Manager.
  • See to it that final inspections are done in a thorough manner and in accordance with shipping requirements and scheduling. Coach Final Inspectors.
  • Maintain ISO 9001 and 13485 Medical Device Quality Management System compliance.
  • Serve as a Good-Will Ambassador, to staff and to our customers at all times.
  • Inspect materials, products, and equipment to find defects and implement corrections. Lead by example in performing FAIs and roving inspections.
  • Generate Non-Conforming Reports, (NCRs), to notify employees of production errors. Make certain that those involved are trained so as to avoid a repetition of previous mistakes. Creates CAPA.
  • Assists in the maintenance and calibration and traceability of gages and other inspection equipment.
  • Maintain the compliance and accuracy of all data entered into system
  • Control, maintain and keep an accurate inventory of all Inspection equipment.
  • See to the proper, efficient and profitable use of the CMM.
  • Create plus ensure the accuracy, thoroughness and validity of Inspection Control Plans.
  • Supervisory

  • Observe work, and monitor measurements, data, and other indicators to insure operators comply with processing standards. Uses Monitor Report to ensure parts are being checked.
  • Serve as a help desk to cell employees.
  • Lead by example in all activities that relate to Quality Control and its effective implementation.
  • Assist employees with the interpretation of blue prints and with the analysis of parts according to those prints.
  • Notify employees of quality related errors and how they can be corrected.
  • Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including monitoring performance and setting performance standards.
  • Recommend and implement measures to motivate employees in order to improve product quality consistency and throughput.
  • Training

  • Train new employees on the Sponge System.
  • Ensures that all Trainings assigned to employees in the cell are completed in a timely manner.
  • Train new employees on the efficient and proper use of inspection tools and machines, including but not limited to, calipers, gauges, micrometers, and comparators.
  • Guide new employees through the inspection process.
  • Initiate Quality related SOPs, SOP training and make sure that these procedures are properly followed.
  • Priorities

  • First priority is open FAIs in the cell.
  • Second priority is MRBs that need to be addressed. The Production Quality Controller will be the champion of the process for getting any rework done and completing the NCR. Training should be face-to-face. There are to be no open MRBs, no open NCRs. Work with the Quality Manager to disposition NCRs and deliver training.
  • The Production Quality Controller will make certain that all Machines are logged into the proper Sponge Data Category at all times 24 hrs. /day. They will oversee and train the production staff to keep the data accurate at all times.
  • The Production Quality Controller will work with the cell leaders to review upcoming orders and write Sponge quality programs, and maintain accurate FAI Sponge and Production Sponge.
  • The Production Quality Controller will use the MONITOR report to review inputs by machinists, working with machinists to increase inputs, entering data when necessary to support the machinists.
  • The Production Quality Controller will ensure that all cell personnel are following procedures, maintaining benches and organizing the cell workspace. Turn over procedures is to be followed.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    **Requirements**

  • BS Engineering or related discipline, experience in lieu of
  • Five Years Quality experience in a precision machining environment.
  • Experience with maintaining ISO 9001 certification.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control practices.
  • Willing to work 50 or more hours weekly, plus weekends as required.
  • Strong commitment to detail and error-free performance
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Have a mechanical aptitude (specific to manufacturing floor employees)
  • Extremely intuitive with problem solving and resolutions
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi task
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, both alone and in teams
  • Excellent verbal skills
